I bought a 9-5 Aero today 🙂 It's lovely! 327000 miles, runs beautifully, full set of Continentals on it....£1495🙂 It has had about 30 services since new and a new gearbox recently. It has only ever failed 4 Mots in the past and they were for ,bulbs, low tyres or number plates being worn. It just passed its MOT today with a 2cm patch of welding on the rear arch🙂 It's a survivor!

We have both those models and you forgot one MAJOR difference. The older one has a transmission dipstick and fill point, and the newer one doesn’t. In order to check/top off the tranny fluid you need to remove the battery, cut off a corner of the battery tray and use a Allen wrench and remove a plug and there’s NO WAY to check the level. My dad scrapped his and went with an Audi A6. Side note: I still LOVE my 2005 9-5 and it’s one of a dozen SAABS our family has owned since the early 1980’s, we are NOT SAAB haters. I blame the company’s demise on terrible GM management and marketing. The original 900’s and 99s (yes, I had a 1970s 99 that was awesome) are still my very favorite cars

picking up a 1999 saab 9-3 2-0t 200hp t5 tomorrow, will be replacing my rusty 2002 9-3 2.0t 150hp t7 :)

Unfortunately I’ve trying to remove a little extra motor oil from the dipstick the long vacuum hose some of it broke inside the oil sump , removed dipstick not find anything ! Then drain even the oil as well nothing, it’s look like around 10cm hose I drove it for two days no any problems. But just worries if will make a defect on the oil pump . Any one have an idea!

Congrats on getting your Viggen, looking good! So I'm guessing this one's a keeper? Just finally got my 9-3 cv back after 8 wks at Saab bodyshop and its 2nd bumper. The car is perfect again and ready for summer driving... Except that w/all the crazy drivers and red-light runners, I'm terrified to drive it now.😕

I’m currently looking at a SAAB my engine of my highlander blew up. My mechanic has a 1999 Saab sitting in his yard nice inside but it says Saab/ Scalia it’s nice but has been sitting for a while. We are using my battery from my highlander since it’s new. It has peeling on the hood and top how does one fix that

This was great in that it showed me things that I definitely didn't know about accessing the battery. I would have appreciated if you went slower with removing and replacing the nodes. Does it matter what order this occurs in? I don't have a lot of confidence with these kinds of things so just even saying "doesn't matter what order you do it" and then it wouldn't have to be so slow.

Like most, I have an opinion too. What follows is just that. I welcome comments. The bearing failure is caused by a failure of the seal in the bearing. The lube leaks out, and the bearing disintegrates. Sealed bearings are sold based on their history of reliability, freedom from external contamination, and isolation from a lubrication system failure. Porsche's use has been criticized as an engineering design error, but there is nothing about this application that corroborates that claim. A genuine design error would create a much higher failure rate than a few percent. Further, there are many examples of cars with over 100,000 miles trouble free. How could the same design that claims a car at 20,000 miles be fine for 100,000? My conclusion is a bad bearing batch. The seal was not installed correctly. Would incoming QA even look for it? My '01 C4 with 64K is tight and quiet -- I'm the original owner. The car has been driven several times a week for its entire life, and has had routine maintenance by the book, but nothing more. IMO, if you buy a 996 today, it's either had the IMS done, or will never need to. I'm taking mine to the grave with me.

Your 9-3 viggen is so nice to see, and I really appreciate your vids on this, along w/the 9-5. Currently, I'm driving an '08 9-5 wgn 5spd, super fun, but A/C needs work for this oppressive NE heat & humidity. It also needs Orio wheel arch rust repair, but that's another story... No summer fun as my '99 9-3 cv 5spd is *still* in the body shop eight weeks later. He's a Saab guy doing an impeccable job, also working alone, and I should have it back this week.🤞🏻 If you have a moment, I have two random questions for you, Kyle: 1) Do you have an OBD II or Tech 2 reader you can recommend? 2) Do you have a pressure washer for car or house that you like? Thanks.

Today I added a chrome Hirsch logo on my trunk lid because I like the Moose as symbol on my Saab Cabrio 9-3 (2003). Succes with al the other (saab) things you do!
